The phrase "Customer Is Always Right" isn't always applicable.
Recently, a barista has uploaded a TikTok video where she was harshly berated by a customer who complained about his Americano order and insisted that he had ordered the same cup of coffee with a bigger size and thought he was being scammed.
The barista calmly tried to explain to the fuming customer that the cup he received is the standard size for an Americano in their particular franchise and that was, in fact, the correct and only size for his order. Dissatisfied by her answer, the customer lost his temper and asked for the manager. The barista stayed calm and collected while trying to explain to the customer about their cup sizing SOPs while he continued to hurl offensive comments at her.
At the end, he simply stormed off and left the franchise. The viewers who've seen the video have all expressed their sympathy towards the barista, citing that the customer should have behaved in a better and tolerant manner. A few users have also pointed out that for that particular franchise, the size of an Americano order is clearly stated in the menu and that the customer should've read properly before lashing out.
