Something about calling every elderly lady "makcik" just feels very Malaysian!
The opening scene of a 2019 South Korean movie, Jazzy Misfits might make your jaw drop a little if you're a Malaysian.
The scene features a Malaysian man cursing out a Korean elderly lady who barges into his door in the wee hours of the morning thinking it was her daughter's home. The cursing fit begins as the Malay speaking man starts to berate the "auntie" for shouting at his face. In the end, when the daughter apologises on behalf of her mother, he aptly replied, "it's sokey (it's okay)." How very Malaysian!
Turns out, the actor is quite well known in South Korea! Going by the name DJ SP3CK, he is a Malaysian-born DJ who has made quite a name for himself in the country's music industry!
