However, as time goes by, these fans often encounter various issues. The most common problem is the fan losing its speed and becoming unable to rotate smoothly in both directions.

A TikTok user @aisyyyelectronics shared a step-by-step tutorial on how to repair a fan. She, despite being a girl, can handle repairs better than most guys, bringing a touch of empowerment to the world of DIY.

She explained that if your fan no longer responds when switched on or spins at a sluggish pace, the issue might lie with the capacitor. And lucky for you, this crucial component can easily be replaced and it is more cost-effective than buying a new one. 

Here are the steps to repair your fan if its capacitor is broken:-

Step 1: Unscrew the back panel of the fan carefully.

Step 2: Once the back cover is removed, take out the capacitor and check its value, typically measured in microfarads (uF). In this case, the value is 1.5uF. Cut off the old capacitor and solder the new one with the same value in its place.

Step 3: Ensure the wire connections are secured by wrapping them with electrical tape for safety.

Step 4: Reattach the previously removed cover and tighten the screws securely.
