Two teenagers who dressed as a "pocong" in Demak Regency, Central Java, were beaten up by locals after they tried to scare them.
It is reported that the reason they did it was to generate likes for their social media content. One of the teens got whacked by the locals before being escorted to the police station because they were sick of being "pranked" by them.
A video of the incident has been shared on Instagram by @andreli_48.
The beaten "pocong" begged the locals to stop beating him. But the people continued to ignore him, before putting him in a car and driving him to the Bonang Police Station.
Because the two "pocongs" are still teenagers, the police and the locals have decided to handle the matter through counselling.
The police also urged parents to keep an eye on their kids' behaviour in the meantime to prevent any disruption of the village's peace.
