Based on reports, a 13yo boy consumed some biscuits which were laid out for monkeys and wild boars on a banana plantation, and almost died, because they were laced with poison.
The incident happened near Kampung Air Puteh, Chukai, Kemaman.
It went down when the victim and his friend entered a banana and coconut plantation to go fishing. The victim then consumed a cookie hanging on a stick in the plantation. It was apparently laced with poison to deter monkeys and wild boars.
Around 1.45pm the victim was then quickly rushed to the emergency unit of Hospital Kemaman after collapsing at the Air Puteh health clinic.
According to the victim's father, he received the news from his wife. He was grateful for the treatment his son received, and that he is now recovering well at the hospital.
