Malaysian comedian and YouTuber Nigel Ng, better known as Uncle Roger, is bringing his famous character to life in a new animated series called Fried. The show will premiere on YouTube later this year.
He announced the project on Instagram, sharing that it’ll explore Uncle Rogers’ life before he became an Internet star.
“We’re developing the world designing the art style, writing scripts, creating new characters, and casting voice actors”, he said.
In the series, Uncle Roger runs a food stall in a shabby mall food court, surrounded by his friends, rivals, and love interest Helen. The show is produced by Toonstar, a Los Angeles animation studio, and will have 12 episodes, each around eight minutes long, according to Fast Company.
Ng, who married Miami-based lawyer Sabrina Ahmed in July, said the first teasers will drop later next year.
He previously told Animation Magazine that turning Uncle Roger into an animated character was a dream come true, allowing him to expand the characters story in new ways.
