International Tourists To Be Exempted From Mandatory Covid-19 Quarantine ONLY If They're Fully Vaccinated, PM Ismail Sabri Says

Fully vaccinated international tourists will finally be able to visit Langkawi, Kedah without undergoing mandatory Covid-19 quarantine starting November 15th, as announced by PM Ismail Sabri today.

However, there are a few regulations that these tourists need to follow:

• Must have at least US$80,000 (RM332,032) insurance coverage

• Hail from a list of countries approved by the Immigration Department (JIM), Health Ministry (MoH), and the Foreign Ministry (KLN)

• Stay for a minimum of three (3) days 

• Must undergo the PCR-RT Covid-19 test three days before departure, and the results must be presented in either digital or printed form

“Therefore, international tourists who intend to make use of this international travel bubble, must fulfill the requirements and adhere to the SOPs set as per the following: quality tourists (high yield), fully-vaccinated individuals, children below 18-years-old must be present with their respective parents/guardians who are fully-vaccinated, the list of nations allowed is subject to JIM/MOH/KLN," he said.


PM Ismail Sabri also informed that this relaxation only applies to Langkawi trips at the moment.
