Recently, a woman posted on Dcard about her disappointing proposal experience. 

Her boyfriend, who is a chef, surprised her with a birthday dinner held at an upscale restaurant in town. 

During dinner, he proposed, but the woman felt that the proposal lacked sincerity and even the ring was cheap.

According to her post, she had shown her boyfriend videos of elaborate and romantic proposals with family and friends involved. 

However, her boyfriend's proposal did not meet her expectations. The proposal took place in the restaurant where her boyfriend worked, and she felt embarrassed that other diners were watching.

The woman was also unhappy with the engagement ring, which she claimed was worth only around NT$80,000 (approximately RM11k). 

She shared her chat with her boyfriend, in which she complained and criticized him for his lack of effort and thoughtfulness.

Many netizens were unsympathetic and criticized the woman for her unreasonable expectations and lack of gratitude. 

Some even congratulated the boyfriend on dodging a bullet and suggested that he should break up with her.

While it's understandable to have expectations for such an important moment in one's life, it's important to remember that a proposal should not be about the cost of the ring or the grandeur of the event. 

What truly matters is the love and commitment between two people.
