One thing I’ve learned about loving dim sum is that if you want to eat it you have to be a morning person. There’s no waking up at 2pm and going for dim sum, most places would already be closed!
I’m definitely not a morning person, but from some steaming hot dim sum, watch me stay awake all night and go straight to the dim sum shop at 7am then, once I’m stuffed, it’s night night time!
Anyway, if you love dim sum, then you must know that Ipoh is one of the top places to go to for some traditional dim sum.
Here are some of the spots that locals go to when they need to feed on some dim sum:
1. Canning Pork-Free Dim Sum
Not only is their dim sum halal, its also super Instagramable, so before eating your dim sum, take a photo for the gram!

2. Yoke Fook Moon
Want to know what makes this dim sum spot famous? It opens at night! Dim Sum lovers know that most dim sum places close their doors afternoon, so this is a real treat!

3. Restoran Sun Kim Aik
This is one of the oldest dim sum spots in Ipoh that serves you big portion of dim sums for quite a reasonable price.

4. Chooi Yue Dim Sum
If you love the dim sum from Yoke Fook Moon, then you’ll love the dim sum here because apparently la (time for some mak cik bawang gossip) the chef worked there for 11 years.
