Yesterday (Dec 13) former Prime Minister of Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad, decided to pass some comments about other races assimilating to the Malay culture within the country, and the responses netizens had? You guessed it, wit with a touch of sarcasm.
Based on reports, Dr. M's exact words were "For example, the Chinese eat with chopsticks, they don't eat with their hands. They have not adopted the Malaysian way of eating food."
He then continued on "They retained the chopsticks which is an identity with China, not with Malaysia, and many other things. They preserve their own community, their own customs, their own ways."
The analogy was to highlight the challenges of the non-Malay population fitting in, in Malaysia. Since then though, netizens have come up with countless of insults to his comment.
