Woman Pays RM300 Booking Deposit For A Villa That Doesn’t Exist, Scammer Posts Advert On Booking.com

If you think scammers aren’t afraid to operate on certified platforms, think again.

An X user recently shared her ordeal of getting scammed by a so-called “villa owner” on Booking.com, only to find out that the place is actually non-existent.

Villa Beverly Row, as advertised on the site, alleged that it’s located in Putrajaya and offers reasonable rates per night.

Despite having zero reviews, the woman decided to give it a try, and paid a booking deposit of RM300 upon contact with the owner.

It’s believed that this wasn’t the first case as other commenters shared that they had dealt various issues on Booking.com previously.
