While life in spite of the pandemic has been returning to back to normal with the interstate travel ban lifted and dine-in finally allowed, Malaysians where given quite the shock when we found out that just yesterday, the COVID-19 cases increased to 5 digits yet again.

The sudden spike in cases automatically caused a panic among Malaysians thinking "Oh no! Not another lockdown!"

Besides that, many who celebrate Hari Raya are wondering if yet again they will not be allowed to have proper celebration and "balik kampung" for the third year in a row! 

Recently, DG Hisham inform that the COVID-19 cases are predicted to keep on increasing and could reach up to 22000 cases a day. It is understood that the spread of the Omicron variant is the main cause of the spike in the number of cases not only in Malaysia but all around the world. 

For now, we do not have any official announcements from the government. However, the government informed that they are ready to tighten the SOPs if the number of cases keep increasing.

While for now there is no information as to whether or not there is going to be another lockdown, we should all be vigilant and try to lower to cases to lower the chances of another lockdown by staying home, keeping your distance and following the SOPs. Most important of all: Get vaccinated and get your booster shot!
