Netizens were astonished to discover an outstanding electricity bill totalling RM21,894.03, as shared on the Malaysia Most Viral X/Twitter page through a screenshot of the substantial TNB bill. Although lacking detailed information, the bill indicated that the premises were located in Taiping, Perak.

Netizens had varied reactions, with some faulting TNB for not disconnecting the electricity, placing the burden on the owner. TNB clarified that only Kedai Tenaga has the authority to cut off the electricity supply, emphasizing that TNB cannot trespass on the premises without the account owner's permission. 

Despite this, many netizens questioned why this case was an exception, as TNB typically cuts off electricity after a person misses paying two months' worth of bills. The incident prompted discussions on advising landlords to consistently monitor their properties.
