A touching act of kindness recently went viral on TikTok, where a man named Izzat (@izzatltfi) shared a video of himself buying and donating essential items to a mosque as part of a waqf (endowment) contribution.
In the video, Izzat is seen visiting a local grocery store to purchase several practical items, including hand soap, tissue boxes, and bathroom slippers. These items, though simple, are meant to benefit the visitors and congregants of the mosque.
What makes the gesture even more meaningful is Izzat's intention behind it; he chose to perform the charitable act in conjunction with his birthday, hoping to receive prayers in return. "POV: You need prayers on your birthday," he wrote in the video.
After completing his shopping, Izzat headed straight to a mosque where he carefully arranged the soaps and tissues in the restroom area and placed the slippers near the entrance. He also took the extra step of labelling each item with the word 'WAKAF' to make it clear that they were donated and free to use.
"Alhamdulillah, the donated items could be used properly by the mosque visitors," the video caption noted.
The heartfelt gesture quickly gained attention online, with many viewers flooding the comments section to praise Izzat for his thoughtfulness and generosity. Some even shared that they felt inspired to follow in his footsteps and contribute to their local mosques.
Simple yet sincere, Izzat's act reminds us that kindness, no matter how small, can leave a lasting impact and inspire others to give back in their own ways.
