We don’t know if you’ve been sat on the latest TikTok trend, with partners telling their s/os “I saw a bird today”.
For those who have and do not understand, we gotchu. For those who have not, and would like to know what’s it about, we gotchu too.
The bird theory comes from Gottman Institute and it’s all about connection with your partner.
The scenario is one partner telling another when they see a bird. How your other partner responds tells you all you need to know about the theory.

If your partner acknowledges it, asks about it, looks for it, talks about it, then thats turning toward your partner. If they brush it off, doesn’t care about it or ignores it, that’s turning away from your partner.
The research came up with results that suggests couples who turn toward each other even in small moments, have dramatically higher relationship satisfaction and longetivity.
This is because, love is not about the grand gestures (although that too is appreciated every once in awhile), it’s about “i see you”, “i care about what you care about” and “your world matters to me”.
Hope you’re all caught up! Try it out and see where your relationships stands.
