Studio Ghibli never fails to impress us with its amazing movies like Spirited Away, Castle in The Sky, My Neighbor Totoro and many more. We as fans who grew up watching these classics are, for sure, always anticipating for the studio’s next release.

And here it is! The studio have just announced its latest feature animation ‘Aya To Majo (Aya and The Witch)’ will be released later this year.

Directed by Goro Miyazaki, the son of Studio Ghibli founder Hayao Miyazaki, the CG animated film is based on the children novel ‘Earwig and The Witch’, which was written by the same author who wrote ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’, Diana Wynne. Besides, it has also been overseen by the elder Miyazaki.

The film will be aired on NHK, a Japanese broadcast this winter, but there are currently no plans for it to be released on theaters in Japan. However, it was known that France’s Wild Bunch has been appointed to handle international rights sales.

We can’t wait to watch the film already! Let’s hope it will arrive in Malaysia very soon.
