A few days ago, Malaysians have collectively launched a #BenderaPutih movement, a non-political smoke signal, a dignified cry for aid urged to be used by anyone needing assistance during these tough times.
However, not everyone is on board. The chief minister of Kedah, Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor urges the public to find proper outlets to seek help as opposed to raising the white flag.
"It has come to my attention that some opposition MPs had gone providing help to those who raised the white flag, that's not the job of elected representatives, that's the job of a crazy person, it's stupid.." He said, as quoted by Harian Metro.
According to the Kedah MB, the state government will also be channeling aid to all affected individuals regardless of their political or religious background. To date, a total of 48,000 food baskets have already been provided by the state government through 12 Disaster Operations Control Centre (PKOB) in each district.
"We have not lost the battle yet, keep fighting and use proper channels to seek assistance," He concluded.
