Tawau: A man was found dead with severe head injuries believed to have jumped from the fifth floor of a shopping center in Jalan Kuhara, near here, early this morning.
It is understood that the incident happened at 3:25 AM when the victim, whose identity is still unknown, was found by members of the public lying on the sidewalk near the car park behind the building.
According to employee there, CCTV footage showed the victim entering the mall via a vehicle lane to the multi-storey car park area in the building.
He said all the doors to the mall were closed after 8 PM and the victim was said to have used the route up to the fifth floor of the building before jumping.
Meanwhile, Tawau District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Peter Umbuas when contacted, confirmed the incident and his team is still conducting further investigations.
"The victim is suspected of jumping and so far, the police are still conducting further investigations including the motive or real cause of the victim acting in such a manner," he said.
