Malaysians were also super curious about artificial intelligence.
Google’s AI tool Gemini stole the spotlight as the years’ top search, with people eager to see how AI could help with daily tasks, learning, work, and creative projects.
Other tools like DeepSeek and Hailuo AI were also trending.
3. Entertainment & Viral People

Amira Othman topped the local search charts, thanks to her entertainment career and big personal moments that everyone was talking about.
Other names on the radar included international figures like Greta Thunberg and Donald Trump, as well as local stars like Naim Daniel and political personalities like Syed Saddiq.
• Movies and shows
In 2025, Malaysians were also all about local hits and binge-worthy dramas. Blood Brothers, a local film, led the search chartsbeating even Hollywood blockbusters like Superman and Thunderbolts.
On TV and streaming, Squid Game and other regional dramas kept viewers hooked with thrilling stories and unforgettable characters.
4. News
News-wise, people were all over economic aid programs like STR and MyKasih, thanks to rising living costs.
Other hot topics included civil servant salaries, national exam results, and major local events like the Putra Heights pipeline explosion and floods in southern Selangor.
