A 45-year-old woman in Accra, Ghana was arrested for selling her youngest grandchild.

According to China Press, the woman said she was tired of taking care of her daughter’s children. Her 29-year-old daughter has already given birth to seven children with seven men, and with the eighth baby being born, she had no choice but to sell it away.

The baby — only two-month-old — was sold to a childless woman at 8,000 Ghanaian Cedi through a 55-year-old baby trader. Besides that, the buyer also rented a house and bought a new fridge for the baby’s mother as well as her seven other children.

Local police have also detained the buyer and the trader, who then assisted the police in their search for the baby. 

After a long search, the baby was finally found in a suburban town called Dansoman.
