Early this morning in Shah Alam, a car crash between a Mitsubishi Triton and a Proton Wira, resulted in the death of 2 teenagers aged 18 and 19 (NST).

The accident happened when a four-wheel drive, which was driven against traffic flow, rammed into a car with two teens on the Federal Highway. After sufficient tests, the Shah Alam District Police Chief noted that the 24 year old suspect was positive for cannabis-type drugs.

Initial investigations found that the four-wheel was heading to Klang from Kuala Lumpur, when it collided with the Proton Wira which was going from Klang to Kuala Lumpur.

"Two victims who were killed, the driver, an 18-year-old female and the (front seat) 19-year-old male passenger, were confirmed dead at the scene. Both remains were taken to the Shah Alam Hospital Forensic Department for autopsy," said Police Chief.

The suspect was taken by the police from the scene to the Shah Alam District Police Headquarters (IPD) for further action, and currently, the case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Department Act 1987 - death by reckless or dangerous driving.
