To our dismay, the prices of food essentials are expected to rise starting 1st July, including our very own staple food, chicken. This came to everyone's attention after the Malaysian government announced their decision to remove the standard ceiling price. 

To reserve the sorry state of our wallets, it might be a good idea to start considering cheaper grocery alternatives. Instead of chicken, here are other essentials you can grab from your grocery aisles that are much cheaper: 

1. Tofu
