Are we about to be hit with a huge Omicron wave?

Four cases of COVID-19 variant of Omicron have been detected in Kelantan, said Kelantan State Health Director, Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin, all of whom were those who have recently returned from Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. 

Specifically, the three individuals infected with a category one COVID-19 variant of Omicron displayed several symptoms, while the other had did not exhibit any symptoms. 

"All of them have undergone quarantine as recommended by the Ministry of Health (MOH) which is monitored by the District Health Office," he further explained. 

Dr Zaini said individuals who have just returned from abroad are advised to undergo compulsory quarantine and comply with the rules set by the government.

"The move is to prevent the spread of COVID-19, specifically the Omicron variant to the community at large," he said.
