Covid-19 has robbed so much from us. Lives, time, happiness, the list can go on and on. In Malaysia, the 1st of August 2021 marked 500 days since we started this heart wrenching journey.
Besides keeping ourselves and those around us safe, keeping physically, mentally and emotionally fit, is also crucial, amidst this never-ending lockdown.
Based on that, here are 4 stretches you should do on the daily, in order to benefit your minds and bodies. Check them out.
1. Bridge Pose
Physique: Stretches out chest, neck, spine, hips, back, butt, hamstrings
Physically: Improves blood circulation
Mentally & Emotionally: Helps with stress and mild depression
2. Spine Stretch
Physique: Stretches spine, shoulders, lower back, hamstrings
Physically: Stimulates organs (intestines, kidneys, liver, ovaries, uterus), helps relieve menstrual discomfort
Mentally & Emotionally: Induces relaxation, relieves stress, uplifts mood
3. Child's Pose
Physique: Elongates lower back, opens up hips
Physically: Helps with digestion
Mentally & Emotionally: Calms the mind
4. Seated Side Stretch
Physique: Stretches the quadratus lumborum (lower part of spine)
Physically: Reduces stiffness and back pain
Mentally & Emotionally: Relaxes the body and mind
Doing these four stretches for a few minutes everyday, would not only help your body, but also your mind and how you're feeling on the overall. All that sitting at home is not good on anyone, so get on it!
