The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission allegedly detained former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin, according to a report by media outlet Harapan Daily.
The Bersatu president was reportedly detained while playing golf at a club in Selangor, according to sources cited by the portal. With PN leaders threatening a major crackdown by the Anwar Ibrahim administration ahead of elections in six states in which PN defeated Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional in the general election last year in five states with important Malay electorates whose support they relied on, this move to arrest Muhyiddin is likely to increase political unrest.
As reported by Free Malaysia Today, The Pagoh MP was expected to provide a statement at the Graft Busters headquarters in Putrajaya tomorrow, according to MACC sources.
Did the former PM actually get arrested? Guess we'll know tomorrow.
