As reported by Sin Chew Daily, 6 passengers who returned to Sabah by plane were diagnosed with COVID-19, 396 passengers who flew from Kuala Lumpur to Tawau on AK5742 and AK5740 on May 1 and 4 were urged to immediately go to the nearest hospital to conduct the second round of  COVID-19 testing.

Dr. Suzalinna, the health officer of Tawau District 2 said that the two flights had a total of 402 passengers, including 72 Sabah students studying in West Malaysia. When they arrived at Tawau Airport, they had undergone coronary disease nasal and throat swab testing. Suzalinna disclosed that the 402 passengers had returned to their respective homes in Tawau, Semporna, Nadu, and Guna for home isolation after undergoing the first round of testing. 

After that, it is discovered that four out of 156 passengers on the AK5742 flight that arrived in Tawau on May 1 were diagnosed, and two out of 246 passengers on the AK5740 flight on May 4 were tested positive for COVID-19. The Tawau Health Office has urged the remaining 396 passengers to go to the Tawau Health Clinic for the second testing from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

She also said that people still have misunderstandings or wrong myths about home isolation and the importance of isolation in blocking the chain of transmission of infectious diseases. She said that if the persons concerned were ordered to be isolated at home, they should be separated from other family members in the house during the isolation period and do not share toilets, bedrooms, and other public facilities. If the situation does not allow, they should go to the isolation centre for isolation. She also reminded the public that many previously confirmed cases were asymptomatic or symptomatic, so the public should not be taken lightly.
