A mother allegedly suffering from depression had attempted to jump off the Penang bridge this afternoon. The husband immediately followed suit and dived straight into the sea, trying to rescue her.

The fire department and rescue team arrived shortly after receiving a distress call from the public present during the incident. Fortunately, the woman was able to be rescued and reunited with her family.
The son was left stranded at the bridge, guarded by a few concerned individuals. The woman was later handed to the police for further investigation.
