Do you always wake up in the morning and immediately brush your teeth, put on your clothes, skip breakfast, and rush to your work? Do you sleep until noon during weekends, waking up realizing half a day has gone? 

It is time to change that with a good morning routine. A morning routine is habits that you perform in the morning before you start your day by going to work or to school. 

The habits can be very simple from drinking a glass of water or stretching for 10 minutes as the beginning.

There are no best morning routines in the world, only the most suitable ones that are customized by yourself and work for you. An achievable routine is essential for you to accomplish it easily so that you will be motivated for the rest of your day.

Some of the basic tips for a workable morning routine are:

1. Have a plan the night before

2. Start your day with an easy task

This is to ensure that you do not wake up in the morning, uncertain of what you should do and the easy task enables you to get into your morning routine straight away and continue the routine with other habits! 


How To Create A Workable Morning Routine?

To create your personal morning routine, firstly you should be clear of your intentions and goals. 

For example, do you want to prioritize your productivity of the day? Or perhaps you would like to focus more on mental health and happiness? 

There are three areas that you can focus on to customize the most suitable morning routine for you.


1. Mentally

If you want to begin your day by having a strong mindset and feel motivated, set your goals, and make a to-do-list the night before or in the morning. Grab a cup of coffee and sit down to think of what you want to achieve today. You can schedule your task or habits into a list. For example,

1. Take a shower.

2. Breakfast and coffee.

3. Make your bed.

4. Meditate.


You will feel contented once you tick off and complete the routine one by one. Start with a simple task so that you will feel motivated to complete the rest. Here are some of the examples that you can include in your morning routine:

1. Stay informed by reading newspaper or news 

2. Read a chapter of a book

3. Checking emails

4. Listening to podcast

5. List the hardest thing to do as the first task to complete for the day

2. Emotionally

Many successful people begin their day by expressing gratitude to life. Practicing gratitude in the morning is a good way to remind yourself to appreciate everything you have. 

You can write down 3 things that you feel thankful when you begin your day. It can be the delicious dinner you had yesterday, the colleagues who helped you in your work, or be thankful for the good weather today. It is really a good way to reset your mindset and emotions back to a gratitude mode every morning. 

To kick start your day:

1. Take a shower-it makes you feel good and refresh

2. Writing a journal

3. Meditation

4. Listening to music

5. Praying


3. Health

If you are looking forward to being healthier, change into workout attire, and start jogging in the park! You can start small by stretching in your bed for 5 minutes after you wake up before you brush your teeth. 

Exercising in the morning is the top morning routines for most of the successful people in the world. The sense of achievement and endorphins released by the brain after exercising powers you to conquers the obstacles and make the right decision for the rest of the day. 


Besides, get healthier by drinking lemon water to detoxify your body and keep in mind to have a hearty breakfast as a good start as you meet the sunshine. Try to include these in your morning routines:

1. Bed Stretches

2. Exercise-yoga, jogging

3. Have a glass of water the first thing after you wake up

4. Drinking coffee or tea

5. Have a Healthy breakfast

5. Practice your skincare routine


Research has found that morning routine can increase our productivity and happiness throughout the day. 

Besides, we will be less stressed as the positive vibes from morning routine fuel us to be ready for the challenges throughout the day. 

The benefits we gained from morning routines are undeniable great that can turn us from procrastinators to high productivity individuals.
