A man had a near death experience at a Petron station in Repoh (Perlis), after his car suddenly exploded while he was refueling it.
According to JBPM, the ignition was triggered by his mobile phone left inside the vehicle, which had apparently reacted with the petrol fumes.
Even part of the station’s ceiling was shattered, proving just how massive the scale of explosion was.
Luckily no other individuals were hurt in the incident, and rescue personnel were able to put out the flames within 10 minutes.
Besides samples of the burnt mobile phone, JBPM also retrieved a charger and cigarettes as part of investigation.
