A man or woman that is caught cheating on their wife or husband can be summoned. A lawyer, Zabetha Muhammad Nor said, you can begin the summoning process by referring the cheating case to the Syariah Court.
Bear in mind that the Syariah Court deals with exclusively Islamic laws and has jurisdiction upon every Muslim in Malaysia.
This revelation comes days after a case of a man cheating on his wife went viral all over social media after she posted a long FB post about it and also shared WhatsApp chats and even a video if her ambushing them.
According to the lawyer, the first step that you have to take is to report the cheating case to the religious office.
Make sure you have sufficient evidence and information such as photos, documents or WhatsApp messages. Only with sufficient evidence can the religious officers begin an investigation.
“The investigation papers will be examined by the Syariah Prosecutor, if it is strong enough to be brought to court then the prosecutor will file a Syariah criminal case to a third party.
"If a wife has strong evidence of cheating on the partner, such as video recordings, photos or hotel receipts involving adultery, the wife can make a complaint against the offense of khalwat or adultery," she said on Facebook.
