A shocking incident unfolds in FELDA Sahabat as an 11-year-old boy is brutally attacked, raising questions about motive and safety.
In a heart-wrenching incident that occurred this morning at their residence in the FELDA Sahabat 30 workers' housing area, an 11-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being attacked with a sharp object by a friend of his stepfather.
The District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Rohan Shah Ahmad, revealed that the incident transpired at 7:30 a.m. when the young boy, a foreign national, was left at home with the suspect as his parents went to work in the nearby oil palm plantation.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Lahad Datu District Police Headquarters swiftly arrived at the scene to initiate an investigation.
Dr. Rohan reported, "The investigation at the crime scene discovered the lifeless body of the young boy covered in blood. There were signs of sharp object wounds, believed to be inflicted by a machete, on the back of the head, front, and back of the neck, as well as the severing of the left hand."

The motive behind this tragic incident remains unclear at this point in time.
He further stated that the victim's body was subsequently sent to the Forensic Department of Lahad Datu Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Dr. Rohan explained, "The investigation has identified the suspect as a friend of the victim's stepfather, who fled the scene after the incident. The suspect is a 33-year-old foreign worker employed as a general laborer on the nearby oil palm plantation, known as Paulus Poka Lolo."
Dr. Rohan emphasized that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which could result in the death penalty if the suspect is convicted.
He appealed to the public, especially those in the FELDA Sahabat vicinity, to assist in locating the suspect by providing information to the nearest police station or contacting the Head of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Lahad Datu District Police Headquarters, Assistant Superintendent Kharuddin Husain, at 013-9071709.
