In the last several weeks, the violence issue of Sheikh Jarrah (a neighbourhood in East Jerusalem) has been surfacing all over the internet.
What is going on?
Based on reports, the #SaveSheikhJarrah is a product of Palestinian families being forced to evict their homes, resulting in violence and killing.
6 families were forced to the streets from their homes, under what the prime minister noted as a 'real-estate dispute'. However, political leaders from around the world, as well as activists, have stated the move to be yet another attempt to displace Palestinians.
Since the rise in brutality, protestors have put their lives on the frontlines to fight against the Israeli government, which then resulted in police violence and civilian-killing by air strikes.
As people worldwide fight against the inhumanity toward Palestinians, celebs like Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, The Weeknd, Dua Lipa and many more have also stepped up to spread awareness on the issue.
Fighting alongside them, netizens applaud them for efforts to stand in solidarity with the country and it's citizens.
A fight as old as time itself, it is 2021, and in the name of humanity the killing needs to stop, the torture needs to stop.
