In a concerning incident on Pulau Perhentian, four individuals believed to be citizens of Myanmar found themselves trapped inside a resort building under construction.

Mohamad Jusoh, Chief of the Besut Fire and Rescue Department (BBP), has disclosed that news of the incident was reported to the department by concerned members of the public at 7:34 AM this morning.

Preliminary information suggests that four of the victims were promptly evacuated to the Perhentian Island Clinic before being transferred to Besut Hospital for further medical attention.

Nonetheless, it is believed that an additional four individuals are still unaccounted for and presumed to be trapped beneath the debris, according to the authorities. 

Rescue operations are currently in progress at the time of writing.
