If you are a horror game lover, I am sure you are familiar with the Silent Hill and a Japanese video game, called Project Zero (aka Fatal Frame). Here is good news for all of you! After a long time since the production of the first Silent Hill film in the year of 2006, its director, Christophe Gans, has confirmed to film Project Zero and a new Silent Hill film.
According to Christophe Gans, he would work with Victor Hadida, with whom he partnered for the first Silent Hill movie too. For Project Zero movie, its setting will be at a Japanese haunted house and it will be filmed in native Japan.
Project Zero focuses on how the siblings, Miku and Mafuyu Hinasaki used a special camera to fight off ghosts. While searching for Mafuyu, who had disappeared in the Himuro mansion, Miku found out that they must fight hostile ghosts and uncovered the truth behind a dark ritual there.
As for the new Silent Hill movie, its setting will be at a small American town, which was ravaged by Puritanism. Christophe Gans described his experience of directing the Silent Hill in 2006 were "beautiful" because he did not face any problems during the production and could produce the film in the way he wanted. Christophe Gans is a fan of Silent Hill, who had hounded Konami for five years before he was given the right to direct the adaption of the game.
Although there are many good responses about Silent Hill Revelation (2012), Gans expressed that he did not regret that he rejected the opportunity to work on it.
Another thing that is confirmed is that the writer of the original movie, Roger Avery, will not be participating in the production. On the other hand, Konami has yet to confirm its involvement in the new Silent Hill projects. The official comments by GR+ team have given us hope, especially there are rumors that not one but two Silent Hill games are currently in development.
Although there is not much official been released regarding these two coming new horror movies, one thing can be sure of is the excitement arose in the horror gamers.
