A factory worker's journey to work ended in heartbreaking tragedy when he was struck by lightning in an incident on the side of the road in Kampung Seri Cheeding, Sungai Jarom yesterday.
The incident occurred at about 6.20pm, where the victim, a 50-year-old man, died at the scene of the incident due to injuries to his right neck and bruises to his stomach and thigh due to the impact of the lightning bolt.
Kuala Langat District Police Chief, Superintendent Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd. Nor @ Saleh said, the initial investigation found that the victim was riding a motorcycle on his way to work at a factory in Bandar Mahkota Banting.
He said, the victim who passed through the Rimbayu bridge to Ladang Seri Cheeding was struck by lightning and fell about 50 meters from his motorcycle. He added that the distance between the incident location and the victim's place of work was about 16 kilometers and the case was classified as sudden death.
