Given, that isn’t winter winter, it’s still pretty cold for a 2 season country.
If you are travelling to Thailand anytime soon, here are some deets to take note of.
October 23rd onward is the date to mark—it’s when Thailand will officially enter winter as predicted by the Thai Meteorological Department.
The cold weather will first appear in the north and northeast regions, gradually spreading to the central and eastern regions.
The south region of Thailand will continue to experience rain, with some areas getting heavy to very heavy showers.
Secretary to the Minister of Difital Economy and Society noted that winter does not mean all areas will become cold immediately.
Instead, the coldest period is expected between mid-Dec and early Feb 2026, with an average temperature around 21-22 degrees.
In the highlands and mountains including Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Loei, Nakhon Phanom and Sakon Nakhon, temperatures could drop to 7-8 degrees on some days, with frost (likely).
For Bangkok and its surrounding areas, minimum temperatures are expected to be 18-20 degrees.
