A person with disabilities (OKU) is believed to have lost his life after the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a man driving a vehicle in an incident on Batu Kitang Road, Kuching, Sarawak. In a video shared by the netizen, Are Pey, the man in question fled the scene after hitting the victim.
"Hit and run in front of the village," he wrote.
Bystanders at the scene were seen attempting to stop the suspect's car by chasing him on a motorcycle but were unsuccessful. According to a witness, the driver continued to speed dangerously. It was then reported that the hit-and-run victim has passed away.
The video also sparked discussions online as the vehicle used had an OKU sticker. Meanwhile, according to information shared by Sarawak Edition, the driver has surrendered to the nearest police station. However, as of the writing of this news, there has been no official statement issued by the authorities regarding the incident.
