TikTok style vertical feeds? Yep, you heard that right!
Netflix is revamping their look on TV platforms as well as the mobile phone app — mainly on their homepage, the new layout is set to be released in the coming weeks.
The updated layout is sleeker and more contemporary, incorporating visual components for television programs and motion pictures while simultaneously fitting in more pertinent details about them. Shortcuts that were previously confined to the left side of the screen will now be at the top, and titles will get callouts that emphasise their fame, accolades, or other accomplishments.
According to the Netflix team, all changes are in hopes of making the user’s experience better and more personalised.

The global streaming platform also unveiled a vertical video feed akin to TikTok that will be optimised for mobile viewing on-the-go and will include trailers and snippets from its series and films. Clicking on the clip will link viewers to the complete episode or movie.
Taking it on a test run in a couple of weeks, Netflix feels that swiping across a vertical feed on social networking apps is an easy way to browse video material, thus wanting to give their users the same experience.
Furthermore, Netflix have also shared that a collaboration with OpenAI is in the works for an AI search engine that will enable users to ask Netflix for particular suggestions in conversational language.
“We want you to be able to discover shows in movies using natural conversational phrases, like, I want something funny and upbeat, or I want something scary, but not too scary, and also maybe a little bit funny, but not like, ha ha funny. Believe it or not, that search phrase will actually yield results in the new experience.” — Netflix
