There are many reasons that a pair of couple won't work out, whether it's money, interests, or political views. But, what if you're forced to leave your perfect partner because of your health?

An Indonesian couple found out that both of them have thalassemia minor, and after plenty of consideration (especially for their future children), they've decided to break up. They then documented their "last day as a couple" on Tiktok in a heartbreaking video.

The video shows them properly dressing up and enjoying each other's company one last time. They even attended a wedding together. After the wedding, they spent time talking and comforting each other before having one last hug as a couple.

What is Thalassemia Minor

Mild forms of thalassemia barely has any symptoms and doesn't require much treatment. For severe cases, the lower level of hemoglobin in the blood will require blood transfusions. 

The issue arises when two people with thalassemia get married, as this highly increases the chances of their offspring also carrying the trait.

So, aside from wishing both of them luck, let this be a reminder to other couples out there about the importance of a proper health check before deciding to spend the rest of your lives together.
