#CodeRed: Warning Signs That Your Online Date is Bad News

When you date someone in real life, you get the opportunity to meet with the person, read their body language and somewhat tell if the person you plan on dating is for real or is bad news.

However, since the whole lockdown, more and more people are moving to online dating. When you date online, most conversation begin through texting. The problem with texting is that it is difficult for you to tell if someone is being sincere or not.

Well, here are some of the red flags to look out for when dating online:

1. They don’t reply you for days

You match with someone, and it’s all hihi haha then suddenly it is so quiet that you could even hear a pin dropping. So, you think it is over but suddenly two days later they pop up again, all romantic and sweet.

This could be a sign that you are just their spare tyre. They probably have a few spare tyres too just in case one doesn’t work then they go for the next.

2. They refuse to use WhatsApp

The next step after chatting on a dating app is moving the conversation to WhatsApp. If you start to notice that they keep avoiding discussing about WhatsApp and they keep giving you reasons why they don’t want to use it.

It could be because they don’t want you looking at their WhatsApp profile picture or their WhatsApp statuses. Why is that? Well, maybe because they already have a partner.

3. They always talk about money

If they keep talking about how much money they have or how they love buying expensive stuff like cars or watches or shoes, then it could suggest that this person is severely insecure that they have to lie or emphasize their wealth to get attention.

Unless you are looking for a sugar daddy, I suggest you block them.

4. They warn you about themselves

When someone who you are interested in decides to be honest and give you a heads-up warning about themselves, never take it lightly or just laugh it off. If might be a sign that they are actually dangerous!

Please do not even let the thought that you can change them or help them out cross your mind. It is not your responsibility and you already have enough on your plate!

5. They say ‘I love you’ almost immediately

When a person decides to tell you that thy love you after just chatting online for like 3 days, then they are moving too quickly. It could mean that they think life is some magical fairy tale where the prince and princess meet and immediately fall in love. Hello! You don’t even properly know who the other person is!

You cannot just fall in love with someone within days, people are much more complex than that. They are just focusing on their feelings and not bothering to actually get to know you.
