A recent video circulating on social media depicting a daring bank robbery in which a security guard thwarted the assailant has been revealed to be an old case that occurred back in May. Authorities are assuring the public that there's no need to panic as they are actively pursuing the suspect.

Ipoh District Police Chief, Superintendent Lee Swee Seng, confirmed today that the incident captured in the video occurred on May 14th at a local bank in Ipoh. He stated that the suspect remains at large, but law enforcement agencies are putting all their efforts into apprehending the individual as soon as possible.

The viral video shows a helmet-wearing robber entering a bank's withdrawal room, brandishing a knife in an attempt to rob two women who were in the process of withdrawing money. The footage reveals the robber holding the knife against one of the women, attempting to take her recently withdrawn cash. Although it seems like the security guard was feeling the scene at first, he actually swiftly rushed to the entrance and loudly ordered the robber to stop. Upon realizing he was cornered, the robber abandoned the crime and fled empty-handed.

Following the incident, the police released the video, launching a nationwide manhunt for the suspect. It has been reported that this particular suspect, of Malay ethnicity, is linked to a total of 19 bank robbery cases involving withdrawal rooms.
