"Gucci Belts Are CHEUGY"- According To Gen Z

Attention people, the word tacky is now replaced by a more Gen Z-esque counterpart called Cheugy (chew-gee). Yes, cheugy is a word which has a far unpleasant meaning. It first surfaced in a video on TikTok, which simply means "trying to hard" or "being the opposite of trendy".

A number of fashion items were brutally roasted in that video, from Uggs to even the interlocking Gucci belt. Yes, even Gucci wasn't spared.

The brand's buckle belt was a hit in the 2010s, up to the point where just about every celebrity and fashionista was pictured wearing it. Of course, many people thought it was one stylish piece that Gucci didn't plaster its logo all over.

For the blunt Gen Z however, that's not the case. To them, the huge double G's set on a plain black band screamed fake-ish and hardly fashionable.

What say you?
