A woman who was the victim of a motorcycle robbery with her partner a few days ago is now reported to be in stable condition but one of her severely injured hands had to be removed.
Sentul District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai said the incident happened at about 12.10 pm on the 26th of August 2021 when the couple was riding a Y15ZR motorcycle towards Jinjang.
"The couple was then approached by two men on a gray RS150 motorcycle who pulled the hand of one of the victims and slammed his head using the motorcycle chain lock on the back of the helmet.
"The victim then made a U -turn and turned back to Jalan Kuching towards the city center but was again hit by the same motorcycle and slipped into the road divider after one of the suspects kicked the motorcycle they were riding," he said in a statement.
Eng Lai said, while the couple were lying on the road, one of the suspects rode away on the victim's motorcycle and with the help of the public, the two victims were taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital by ambulance.
Through several tweets by a Twitter user by the name of @rabirsmn, it is understood that the victim who is her cousin, was on her way home from work when the incident occurred.
Based on the latest Tweets, @rabirsmn informed her followers that the victim had safely undergone hand removal surgery and appealed to the public to pray for her speedy recovery.
It is understood that the victim's hand was broken in three parts and had to be removed due to damage to the nerve which is feared to result in other more serious complications.
