In a tearful farewell ceremony, these primary schoolers in Tawau really had a hard time parting with their retired teacher.
Known as Cikgu Salina, she was one of the school’s most beloved faces, respected for her stern yet passionate teaching.
Her students regarded her as a mother figure at school, hence the tearful reactions as each of them embraced her during the ceremony.
Many also presented her with thoughtful parting gifts, including handwritten cards and food.
One student was even seen wanting to give her his lunch money as an appreciation, but she politely declined.
The students’ love towards her certainly proved just how genuine she was in educating them, and they all struggled to contain their sadness.
