Traffic Violations: Netizen Shares A Commonly Overlooked Traffic Rules That Could Cost You Hefty Fines and Jail Time
A driver recently witnessed an unusual scene in which two policemen effortlessly fined four cars, including her own, during a single red light cycle, all due to a commonly overlooked traffic rule.
A Facebook user named Tan shared her experience of receiving a fine from the police for stopping her car past the designated white lines while waiting at a red light.
She explained that the police officers concealed themselves while waiting at red lights to catch drivers who didn't stop their cars before the white lines.
The police approached her while she was waiting at a red light and asked if she was aware that her car had crossed the white lines. She replied that she had merely been following the car beside her. The police then informed her that this was the reason they both were being fined.
"The fine amount was not stated on the saman, and the police instructed me to check it online." According to reports, anyone who parks their vehicle on a sidewalk or crosses the white line while parking may face a fine not exceeding RM2,000 or imprisonment for up to 6 months.
The user posted this as a reminder to fellow netizens to follow the rules, as failing to do so could lead to serious consequences.
