An altercation during a semi-final football match in the league organized by the Ipoh Football Team (PBI) at the Dr. Seenivasagam Park football field in Ipoh yesterday has raised eyebrows. This altercation involved players and coaches who were dissatisfied with the referee's decisions.
A 49-second video capturing the turmoil quickly made its way onto social media today, drawing significant attention.
Ipoh District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Yahaya Hassan, stated that no police reports have been filed regarding the incident as of now. However, a further review by the authorities confirmed that the incident in the video did indeed occur last night.
According to him, the commotion erupted during a football match organized by the Ipoh Football Association, featuring two local football teams or clubs in the semi-final.
He mentioned that a group of coaches and players who had suffered defeat in the football match expressed their dissatisfaction with the referee's decisions and subsequently pursued several referees after the match had concluded.
"Police investigations have not yielded any police reports following the incident. Further scrutiny revealed that the incident took place at around 6:55 PM yesterday (Thursday) at the Dr. Seenivasagam Park football field.
"However, no physical altercations occurred during the incident, and no injuries were reported," he stated in a press release tonight.
Furthermore, he advised the public not to engage in any speculation or spread false information regarding the video footage, as it may cause unnecessary distress among the community.
