Langkawi’s known for its sandy beaches, seafood galore and picturesque island clusters, charming tourists to flock there for a sense of escapade.

  
That is, until a man unveiled the grim reality of the tropical utopia. Showing a clip of him by the beachside, he shared that the island is almost desolate and wondered the whereabouts of other tourists.

He even compared the stark contrast between Langkawi and Thailand, where the latter is often packed with people. 

The video raised the question: what exactly is happening to Langkawi? 

Local viewers commented that the food and accommodation prices are more expensive compared to Thailand, causing Malaysians to spend their dime on the neighbouring country instead.
