A 23-year-old young mother, Caylin Watson put her biological son in the car and set the car on fire in order to kill him.

The Columbia Police Department arrested her Watson on Sunday and charged her with attempted murder, child abuse, and other crimes.

The police stated that Watson parked her car on the roadside on Sunday afternoon. 

Four witnesses who travelled along the highway quickly called 911 when they saw the car on fire. They even stopped and got out of their vehicle to help the baby.

Columbia Police officers came to the scene together with members of the Columbia Fire Department to put out the fire. The baby boy was taken to the hospital for treatment. According to the doctor's diagnosis, the baby boy was severely burned and his condition was not optimistic. Watson was also administered for minor injuries at a local hospital before she was taken to jail.
