The past few weeks have been hectic for most as we gear up for our national Independence Day on August 31. 

From the dazzling array of parades to grand fireworks display, the memorable date calls for unity and harmony, no matter the ethnicity.

Of course the fellow “Abang Bomba” remain as this year’s main characters, but one particular newcomer might have stolen that throne. 

A ginger feline affectionately called “Tunku Oyen” by netizens has been making a buzz over in Putrajaya, and its Merdeka-themed attire is too cute to be true.

Taking inspiration from the Father of Independence himself, Tunku Abdul Rahman, the feline’s resemblance is quite uncanny.
