A day that was supposed to be the happiest day for a bride turned sad when she lost her mother an hour after the akad nikah ceremony.

In a post on TikTok, @mawiekhaili shared that the bride, known as Ika, who is also his best friend, had her wedding on Saturday.

"Barely one hour after the akad nikah, Ika received sad news, prompting her to leave the wedding and rush to Kuala Lumpur Hospital to see her mother who was in critical condition.

"However, upon Ika's arrival at the hospital, her mother breathed her last. I cannot imagine being in Ika's situation.

"Gembira sedikit, tetapi duka yang lebih (a little joy, but more sorrow). However, I am proud of her as she remained strong (despite the situation) and calmly took care of her mother's remains.

"She forced herself to remain strong and return to her wedding. Not to celebrate her wedding, but as a sign of respect for the guests who came all the way to her wedding, including families from Indonesia and Singapore," read the caption in a video that accompanied the post.

In the comment section, users expressed condolences to Ika and her family and praised her for being strong.
